SPRinT showcases resus skills

Members of Royal Brompton’s multi-disciplinary paediatric resuscitation team -SPRinT – hosted a simulation event this week, to raise awareness of its work among both staff and hospital visitors.

SPRinT, which stands for Simulation in Paediatric Resuscitation Team Training, used simulation babies, crash trolleys and ventilation equipment to demonstrate how multi-disciplinary colleagues work together to resuscitate infants.Paediatric consultant Dr Margarita Burmester, co-director of SPRinT along with consultant paediatric intensivist Dr Meredith Allen, said:

“The response was very encouraging, and there was a constant flow of visitors to the demonstration. We’ve talked about paediatric resuscitation techniques to a wide range of people today, including clinical staff, managers, patients, ambulance crews and relatives.
