We spent the afternoon at the Wellcome Trust with our collaborators in research from UCL Institute of Education exploring video recording in clinical settings for patient safety and quality improvement. There were presentations and discussions on how video can allow us to analyse our activity at a granular level when working in complex healthcare environments, but also that there is a mismatch between research ethics committee expectations and the methodological benchmarks used for this type of research.
