Dr MacGloin qualified from Imperial College, London and prior to entering paediatric training, completed research into health-seeking behaviours within cluster randomized trials addressing perinatal mortality. Her research interests continued during her ST3 post in PICU/Paediatric Cardiology at Royal Brompton Hospital, where she contributed to research into the demographic, surgical and intensive care unit factors impacting quality of life after congenital heart disease surgery. It was in this post that she experienced crisis resource management and resilience within simulation training.
Dr MacGloin has completed the Facilitators Course in Simulation and the Simulation Module as part of the MA in Clinical Education at King’s College London. Her particular interests are strategic debriefing and the facilitation of experiential learning through simulation. List of prize winners
